A wedding would normally include Porth-en-Alls House, The Lodge and The Workshop as a minimum, providing accommodation for 33 people for six days, Thursday to Wednesday, allowing you to extend time spent with family and friends before and after your special day. The venue is located right next to the sea with private gardens and beach.
Porth-en-Alls House has three arches within the walled garden licensed for civil ceremonies with views to the sea where up to 130 guests can attend. There are options to marry within the house for smaller, more intimate ceremonies.
There are two options for your reception; a marquee on the far lawn next to the sea for larger weddings of up to about 130 or within the Refectory in Porth-en-Alls House for up to 75-80 (for which there is a commercial kitchen attached).
A wedding booking includes Porth-en-Alls House, The Lodge and The Workshop for six nights Thursday to Wednesday. Other houses may be added for your guests according to availability and the size of the wedding party.
Weddings and larger group functions and events, retreats and parties can be booked at any time of the year except during the school holidays, bank holidays and most of April and September.
We use certain marquee companies since the spectacular site requires a lot of experience. We have a list of recommendations for catering, hire, flowers, hair and everything you need to plan your big day. These are all recommended by our couples. We are here to help in the planning, offering experienced suggestions and booking of external services although we can recommend professional wedding planners with plenty of local knowledge.
Viewing is by appointment only and is generally restricted to changeover days, Thursdays or Fridays, according to the season. Please contact us to discuss availability.
Events, retreats and parties
Porth-en-Alls House is an inspiring place for events. It has hosted the famous International Musicians’ Seminar twice a year for 50 years. 100 people including helpers and students stay in the cottages and convene at Porth-en-Alls for tuition and for dining in the refectory.
It also works well for house parties, significant birthdays or other excuses, even in the winter months.
The Ashtanga yoga guru David Swenson taught here for many years and groups of amateur artists return for the unbeatable views, sea swims and walks, exhibiting their work in the refectory at the end.
Local and London friendship groups return annually for long weekends to catch up and play music, walk and swim
