The Look Out House
Built by the government for wartime coastal observation between 1914-1918, the house stands on its own at the head of Cudden Point looking over the whole bay with unsurpassed views of St Michael’s Mount, the Lizard and Land’s End Peninsulas.
There is a spacious upstairs double bedroom/sitting room
with large observation window gallery and a second bunk room. The ground
floor comprises a kitchen/dining room with gas cooker and fridge,
and a bathroom with shower and WC. Rotating bath outside with hot
and cold running water becoming a dining table when not in use. There
is limited electricity supplied by a small windmill, but calor gas
cooker, fridge and hot water throughout with open fire or multi-fuel
furnaces in the main rooms. The house can be reached by car in dry
weather otherwise by Landrover. (Equipped
